Ski Mountaineering in Sweden

A mountainous country in northern Europe, much of Sweden gets bitterly cold (and very dark) in the winter season, but spring skiing can give great conditions. There are a few pictures here from the area in the extreme north of the country around the town of Kiruna.

Descending from the peak of Nuolja above Abisko.  There is a small "resort" here with just one chairlift that accesses a lot of good terrain.

....and coming back down through the birch forest on Larkincohka near the highest peak in Sweden, Kebnekaise.
